CSX Intermodal ‘Plays’ a Big Part in Bringing Joy to Sick Kids

Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization, dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the qualify of life for children, would like to extend its warmest appreciation to CSX Intermodal., one of the country’s top shipping companies. Courageous children all over the country are smiling thanks to CSX and Kids Wish Network.

CSX Corporation, based in Jacksonville, Fla., is one of the nation’s leading transportation companies, providing rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck trainload services. The company’s transportation network spans approximately 21,000 miles, with service to 23 eastern states and the District of Columbia, and connects to more than 70 ocean, river and lake ports.

Recently, this wonderful company generously donated the delivery of two truckloads of toys from GnuGames, Inc. in Illinois, to Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center in Holiday, FL.

Kids Wish Network has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of brand new, top of the line toys to children and children’s care facilities all over the country. The charity primarily relies on donations of goods and services to continue its mission of bringing joy to children everywhere who desperately need it.

CSX came to Kids Wish Network’s rescue recently with the delivery of the toys, donated by GnuGames. The toys were picked up in Romeoville, IL and ferried down to Florida. All free of charge!

These wonderful goodies are included in Kids Wish Network’s unique Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, an uplifting program that brings cheer to children admitted to the hospital for treatment. The donated toys are placed in pediatric care facilities all across America and are given to the children when they arrive for treatment. These precious treasures go a long way in easing the fears and anxieties these brave little warriors associate with medical care. Doctors and nurses all agree: Sometimes a smile can be the very best medicine!

So, KUDOS to CSX! Thanks so very much and we hope you know what an integral part you have played in the lives of some very courageous children!

Kids Wish Network Brings Early Holiday Cheer to Children at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center

Posted in Press Releases on September 19th, 2008

Fountain Valley, CA – Few things bring a smile to a child’s face faster than a brand new toy. There are hundreds of smiles right now at Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center thanks to Kids Wish Network’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank. This special program is an uplifting, gift-giving event that brings cheer to children admitted to the hospital for treatment. The organization is honored to be able to provide toys with a retail value of over $60,000 to the hospital through its unique Holiday of Hope Gift Bank. Megatrux, Inc., a long time supporter of Kids Wish Network, graciously delivered the toys to the facility.

"Kids Wish Network’s programs and generous toy donation help us at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital to make our environment much more friendly to children.  Not only do these toys bring smiles to the children’s faces, they help in their coping with illness and hospitalization.  Thanks to Kids Wish Network, we have been able to spread the toys and cheer to areas throughout the hospital which treat our pediatric patients.  From the Emergency Room and main lobby to our pre-operative area, we have been able to positively affect a child’s hospital experience with us.  We cannot thank Kids Wish Network enough for making this a reality for our hospital,” said Debbie Keel, CEO of Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.

As just one of the programs that makes Kids Wish Network different from similar organizations, its Holiday of Hope Gift Bank is a special program created to bring comfort to kids entering the hospital for medical care. The brand new toys and games, donated by some of America’s top toy manufacturers, are distributed to sick youngsters when they arrive to a children’s care facility. The Gift Banks help alleviate fears and anxieties by allowing children to temporarily forget about the stinging needles and uncomfortable procedures often endured while undergoing medical treatment.

Desperately Seeking Products for Sick Teens!

Holiday, FL –Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization that serves sick children is desperate for your help! We work hard each and every day to bring joy to some very courageous kids through our wish granting services and our gift giving programs. In order to do this, we rely on the generosity of toy manufacturers and companies nationwide to donate their products to be given to these children. Nothing brings a smile to a child’s face more quickly than receiving a brand new toy or game!

Sadly, our teenagers are often neglected in our efforts! It is extremely challenging for us to garner donations geared towards kids between the ages of 12 and 18! We do our best to fill our wish boxes and to stock teen rooms at hospitals and children’s care facilities across the country with items appealing to teens, but it is very difficult as we are seriously lacking items for them. As everyone knows, teenagers are very gadget oriented!

At this time, we are desperately seeking any of the following items for our teens: electronic hand held games, game system games for all game systems, DVD’s for older kids, listening devices including ipods and MP3 players and books for teens.

If your company manufactures or distributes any of these products, please contact Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center. Any help would be tremendously appreciated!  Kids Wish Network will gladly pay for shipping within the continental U.S.

Please join Kids Wish Network’s family of “Guardian Angels’! Together, we can all make a difference in the lives of some very special and courageous kids!

For more information on Kids Wish Network please visit their website at www.kidswishnetwork.org. If you would like to donate merchandise, please call 727- 937-3600 or toll free at 888-918-9004.
