Kids Wish Network Brightens the Future for many Local Children’s Facilities

Posted in Press Releases on March 27th, 2009

Holiday, FL – As charities around them were closing their doors due to the difficulty of the economic climate, nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization Kids Wish Network and their band of “Guardian Angels” began working towards helping local facilities through their unique Gift Bank program.
Kids Wish Network’s Gift Bank program is designed to bring joy to children at facilities such as hospitals, homeless shelters and many different specialized programs through the use of brand new donated toys, games and electronics from many of the top manufacturers nationwide. Once received by Kids Wish Network, these amazing items are distributed directly to the facilities and into the hands of thousands of children and teens. In other words, Kids Wish Network helps them to help the kids!

With our country’s ongoing economic struggle, it is becoming more and more difficult for people to give, causing a chain reaction that is severely crippling charitable institutions nationwide. Here in Florida, the situation is no different. With such an increased need in the local communities, Holiday-based organization, Kids Wish Network, is ready for the immediate distribution of their donations. While constantly adding to their ongoing list of facilities that serve the homeless, abused, disadvantaged, underprivileged children, Kids Wish Network looks only to help the children affected by such terrible times.
Seeing that hundreds of local child care programs and facilities were struggling in this difficult economic climate, Kids Wish Network stepped forward and saw to it that approximately $380,000 worth of fantastic toys, games and other items were distributed between facilities located throughout Pasco, Pinellas, Citrus, Hernando and Hillsborough counties.

These recipients accepted their Gift Banks with great enthusiasm; they were both shocked and greatly surprised to receive such large amounts of high quality merchandise. According to one local program director, there were “Surprises in every carton…that’s what we experienced when we began opening the boxes from the Kids Wish Network…Our excitement at having gifts was delightful…Your generosity is heartwarming.” The folks of Kids Wish Network are only too happy to have made a difference and will continue to try and meet the needs of their community, as well as continuing on their nationwide mission.

A Very Lucky Friday the 13th for Kids across America

Posted in Press Releases on March 20th, 2009

Holiday, FL- Friday the thirteenth, a day noted for its unlucky connotations, was an extremely wonderful day over at Kids Wish Network, thanks to some outstanding donations from Chicco USA and CSX Intermodal.

Children recovering from illness or injury in hospitals and care facilities across the nation will soon be smiling, thanks to the exceptional generosity of Chicco USA, which donated over 50 pallets loaded with hundreds of fabulous items such as baby strollers, car seats and toys of all shapes and sizes. This amazing donation came to a retail value of over $110,000 dollars worth of merchandise that could not have come at a better time for Kids Wish Network, considering today’s economic climate.

Chicco USA’s donation will go a very long way in helping to ease the fears and anxieties that these brave children associate with medical attention. Children’s care facilities and hospitals all over the United States will be extremely excited to receive these desperately needed items, and Kids Wish Network simply cannot express enough thanks and gratitude to Chicco USA for their magnificent donation.

Though Kids Wish Network specializes in granting the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses, they needed some help in granting their own “wish” of bringing the wonderful Chicco products back to their warehouse; here is where CSX Intermodal worked their own special sort of “guardian angel magic.”

As they have helped Kids Wish Network many times in the past, CSX Intermodal were more than excited to help, and needed only an address to pick up the donation from. Through CSX’s amazing “Keep on Moving” program, Chicco USA’s donation was trucked all the way from Pennsylvania to Kids Wish Network’s Florida doorstep within two days.

There is nothing better than seeing the excitement and surprise on the face of a child who is bravely battling back from disease or recovering from an accident and Kids Wish Network is overjoyed to facilitate these memorable moments.  We would not as efficiently have been able to make a difference in the life of these young people, were it not for caring organizations like Chicco USA and CSX Intermodal.  We offer our sincere thanks to these wonderful “Guardian Angels,” and others like them who help us to spread cheer year-round.

Kids Wish Network is a nationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children. If you know a child between the ages of 3 and 18 who may be in need of its wish granting services, please call 727-937-3600 or toll free 888-918-9004.
