Kids Wish Network

Holiday, FL – As charities around them were closing their doors due to the difficulty of the economic climate, nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization Kids Wish Network and their band of “Guardian Angels” began working towards helping local facilities through their unique Gift Bank program.
Kids Wish Network’s Gift Bank program is designed to bring joy to children at facilities such as hospitals, homeless shelters and many different specialized programs through the use of brand new donated toys, games and electronics from many of the top manufacturers nationwide. Once received by Kids Wish Network, these amazing items are distributed directly to the facilities and into the hands of thousands of children and teens. In other words, Kids Wish Network helps them to help the kids!

With our country’s ongoing economic struggle, it is becoming more and more difficult for people to give, causing a chain reaction that is severely crippling charitable institutions nationwide. Here in Florida, the situation is no different. With such an increased need in the local communities, Holiday-based organization, Kids Wish Network, is ready for the immediate distribution of their donations. While constantly adding to their ongoing list of facilities that serve the homeless, abused, disadvantaged, underprivileged children, Kids Wish Network looks only to help the children affected by such terrible times.
Seeing that hundreds of local child care programs, shelters and facilities were struggling in this difficult economic climate, Kids Wish Network stepped forward and saw to it that approximately $165,000 worth of fantastic toys, games and other items were distributed between facilities located throughout Pasco, Pinellas, Citrus, Hernando and Hillsborough counties in the past month alone!

These recipients accepted their Gift Banks with great enthusiasm; they were both shocked and greatly surprised to receive such large amounts of high quality merchandise. According to one local program director, there were “Surprises in every carton…that’s what we experienced when we began opening the boxes from the Kids Wish Network…Our excitement at having gifts was delightful…Your generosity is heartwarming.” The folks of Kids Wish Network are only too happy to have made a difference and will continue to try and meet the needs of their community, as well as continuing on their nationwide mission.

There is a truly extraordinary ‘Guardian Angel’ that you may see at any given moment as you drive on any highway in the United States. In order for the toys to be given to the children, however, they must first be delivered to the hospitals and children’s care facilities. That’s where Megatrux comes in!

This incredible company donates its first rate shipping services to Kids Wish Network. Its drivers work tirelessly all year round delivering thousands and thousands of toys while driving through rain, sleet and snow to make sure the kids get their toys. For that reason, Kids Wish Network proudly proclaims Megatrux one of its true ‘Guardian Angels’!

Karen Pelle, President of Megatrux, has been instrumental in organizing her company’s efforts to help deliver the toys. They typically deliver between $20,000 and $30,000 worth of goodies to each facility. And not only do they deliver the toys, they also pick up toys from toy companies across the country and bring them to Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center in Florida where they are processed, bagged and sent out to the children – courtesy of course, of Megatrux.

Barbara Askin, Director of Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center says that the charity would be unable to bring joy to so many children without the support of Megatrux. “Karen is just like Mrs. Santa Claus all year round!” she said enthusiastically. “Without her generosity and compassion, we wouldn’t be able to get these toys out to our kids. Megatrux is a positively outstanding company and their commitment to children is truly inspiring!”
