Seeking Some Early “Happy Holiday” Cheer for Kids Wish Network’s Special Children and Teens

Posted in Press Releases on October 30th, 2009

Holiday, FL –  Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization that serves children with life-threatening illnesses, is desperate for your help! We are in need of donations of toys and games for children of all ages: from infants to teenagers. With the economic climate of the country today, it’s becoming harder and harder to find donations at all, let alone ones that fit our kids needs. We are understanding of this difficulty, but the children still need our help; without your assistance, we cannot give these kids the joy they so deserve during their times of need.

We work hard each and every day to bring joy to some very courageous kids through our wish granting services and our gift giving programs. Our wish granting services were created to fulfill the wishes of children who may never have the chance to experience something amazing like this again, while our gift giving Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program distributes thousands of dollars worth of toys and games to children within around 150 hospitals and child care facilities across the country.

Because of the difficult economic times, more and more people are flooding into homeless and abuse shelters, many bringing their children, who have little to make them smile. This is where Kids Wish Network works best, bringing happiness to the lives of these kids.

In order to bring joy to these very deserving children, we rely on the generosity of toy manufacturers and companies nationwide to donate their products to be given to these children. It has been proven that these toys help alleviate fears and anxieties by allowing children to temporarily forget about the pain and fear often accompanying scary and uncertain circumstances.
If your company manufactures or distributes any toys, gifts, games, accessories, electronics or anything else geared towards children and teenagers, please contact Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center. Any help would be tremendously appreciatedKids Wish Network is happy to announce that all donated items will be shipped via free freight within the United States. Kids Wish Network Receives Award for their Work with Victims of Domestic Violence

Posted in Press Releases on October 22nd, 2009

Holiday, FL- Kids Wish Network has been honored with an outstanding award for their work with the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force in the form of their Hero of the Month  and the Holiday of Hope Gift Bank Programs.

The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force of West Pasco is a part of Kids Wish Network’s Hero of the Month Program. This is a program that was developed to recognize children who have faced and overcome tremendous, and often painful, difficulties with courage and bravery.

Every month, the Task Force nominates a child who best fits this description and that child is awarded with a certificate, medal, t-shirt and a gift card valued at $200 to $500 depending on their age. The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force of West Pasco is one of hundreds of pediatric care facilities and hospitals nationwide who participate in this magnificent program.

As a member of Kids Wish Network’s Hero of the Month “family,” The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force also received a Kids Wish Network Holiday of Hope Gift Bank of toys and gifts for the children in their care.

This particular Gift Bank consisted of approximately $20,000 worth of brand new toys, games, strollers and other much-needed items that were donated to Kids Wish Network by some of the best manufacturers and distributors nationwide. These gifts were then packed at Kids Wish Network’s headquarters in Holiday and sent straight to The Salvation Army’s shelter to be given directly into the hands of their very deserving children.

At a special luncheon, The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force and Florida State  Senator Mike Fasano presented Kids Wish Network with a wonderful award,  thanking the charity for allowing the Salvation Army to be a part of their amazing organization whose “programs have made a tremendous impact on the lives of the children that are being served by The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program.”

According to a speaker for The Salvation Army Domestic Violence Task Force, when a child at their shelter receives his or her Hero of the Month award, “tears usually flow as the child is shocked to find out that someone recognizes their struggle and appreciates their bravery. The children come to the shelter scared. They enter through a security gate, not knowing anyone but their mom and siblings. They may have to share a room with another family. They don’t know what to expect. Honoring these children at this vulnerable time is possible through the generosity of the Kids Wish Network.”

Kids Wish Network is a nationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children. If you know a facility that may benefit from participating in the Hero of the Month Program, please call 727-937-3600 or toll free 888-918-9004. Toys Desperately Needed for Kids Wish Network’s Special Children and Teens

Posted in Press Releases on October 16th, 2009

Holiday, FL –  Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization that serves children with life-threatening illnesses, is desperate for your help! We are in need of donations of toys and games for children of all ages: from infants to teenagers. It is extremely challenging for us to gather donations geared towards kids between the ages of 12 and 18, especially for boys.

With the economic climate of the country today, it’s becoming harder and harder to find donations at all, let alone ones that fit our kids needs. We are understanding of this difficulty, but the children still need our help; without your assistance, we cannot give these kids the joy they so deserve during their times of need.

It has been proven that these toys help alleviate fears and anxieties by allowing children to temporarily forget about the pain and fear often accompanying scary and uncertain circumstances.
We do our best to fill our wish boxes and to stock play rooms at hospitals and children’s care facilities across the country with items appealing to boys of all ages, but it is very difficult as we are seriously lacking in items for them.
At this time, we are desperately seeking any of the following items for our boys: Action figures, toy cars, toy trucks, and board games.
If your company manufactures or distributes any of these products, please contact Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center. Any help would be tremendously appreciated!

The amazing success of this Gift Bank program is due to the generosity of the donations of various toy and shipping companies. For all of Kids Wish Network’s “Guardian Angels” and any companies thinking of joining this elite group, Kids Wish Network is happy to announce that all donated items will be shipped via free freight.
