Holiday, FL- National children’s charity Kids Wish Network will host their “Holiday in Holiday” event for Tampa Bay area charities this December and was given a generous grant from Wells Fargo as well as a number of bicycles to distribute from Walmart.

The recent downturn of the economy has forced an increasing number of children and families in the Tampa Bay area to seek assistance from shelters and various local charities. Unfortunately, this same downturn has also created difficult circumstances for the charities themselves, and Kids Wish Network wants to help.

In December, Kids Wish Network has invited 20 different charities and shelters from all over the Tampa Bay area to their headquarters in Holiday to pick up two pallets of toys each for the children served by their facilities. The boxes in each pallet will be filled to the brim with all sorts of brand new toys, games, clothes and other necessities that have been donated by some of the top manufacturers and distributors from around the country. In total, Kids Wish plans to distribute approximately a half million dollars’ worth of toys and gifts to these local charities.

In support of this outstanding effort, both Wells Fargo and Walmart have stepped forward to help make the event even more special for deserving children in Tampa Bay with a generous grant from Wells Fargo and a number of bicycles to be given to each facility from Walmart.

For children in need around Tampa Bay, this holiday season is sure to be a joyous one.

Holiday, FL- National children’s charity Kids Wish Network is excited and proud to be a part of the U.S. Army’s Operation Toy Drop by providing toys and gifts to be given out on military bases at several events during the month of December. In addition, Kids Wish Network will be sending toys to Fisher Houses located on or near military bases nationwide.

This year marks the 14^th year for Operation Toy Drop and through the support of national children’s charity Kids Wish Network, the program is able to include other military bases across the country to benefit children’s homes, shelters and advocacy centers. This year, Kids Wish Network committed to provide over a quarter million dollars’ worth of brand new toys, games and other necessities for this outstanding effort.

In order to fulfill their mission, Kids Wish Network relies on the generosity of toy manufacturers and companies nationwide to donate their products. It has been proven that toys help alleviate fears and anxieties by allowing children to temporarily forget about the pain and fear often accompanying uncertain circumstances.  “The need isn’t just here in Fayetteville,” said a spokesperson for Operation Toy Drop. “It’s national. And Kids Wish Network’s participation has allowed us to double our impact in the communities we serve. This ability to put smiles on the faces of so many more children means the world to us. It’s all about the kids and getting toys out to them.”

Additionally, Fisher Houses across the country will be receiving toys and necessities from Kids Wish Network for the children of our service men and women receiving care at military hospitals and medical facilities.

After working with children in crisis for over 12 years, we at Kids Wish Network have found that children truly love to play with classic toys, especially plush animals and stuffed toys of all kinds. Despite the demand for high-tech gadgets, plush toys remain on the top of the list of the most desirable items.

Cuddling a soft, plush toy is a calming and relaxing activity for kids who are suffering from illnesses, distressed while dealing with harsh circumstances like homelessness or trying to cope with other traumatic situations such as abuse. The confidence that a favorite plush toy can bring also provides great feelings of security and comfort to children in despair and they make the finest friends.

Probably because of their worldwide appeal to children of all ages and situations, plush toys are some of the hardest products to keep in stock; there is always a high demand for these classic toys. Without the assistance of the manufacturers and distributors of these items, we cannot give these kids the joy they so deserve during their times of need. Right now, especially for the holiday giving season, we at Kids Wish Network are in desperate need of plush toys to send out to children in need.

Holiday, FL- Kids Wish Network received another fantastic donation of beautiful musical jewelry boxes from specialty manufacturer MK & Company to distribute to children in crisis through their gift giving programs.

Three pallets of fantastic musical jewelry boxes recently arrived at national children’s charity Kids Wish Network from MK & Company, a unique manufacturer dedicated completely to creating charming, artful “gifts from the heart” designed especially for children and babies. This is their second year of donating to Kids Wish Network, as they began donating their lovely products to the charity in 2010.

These jewelry boxes that MK & Company sent to Kids Wish Network are decorated in lovely watercolors and are the perfect places for any little girl to store her most loved treasures; in fact, the boxes themselves are sure to become a dear treasure! Once the lid is lifted on one of these delightful boxes, a pretty, tinkly tune plays as a fairy princess or a ballerina dances in front of a tiny mirror. There is nothing that will delight the heart of a little girl in the care of a hospital, shelter or other facility – or just a little girl with little to make her smile – than a pretty, heartfelt jewelry box from MK & Company.

Holiday, Fla. – National children’s charity Kids Wish Network needs your help to provide toys and gifts to thousands of impoverished children living in the Appalachian Mountains through the 69^th Annual CSX “Santa Train” event.

For the third year in a row, CSX Corporation and Kids Wish Network have partnered up to bring all sorts of much-needed toys and gifts to children living in the isolated areas of the Appalachian Mountain region through the 69^th Annual CSX “Santa Train” event. As the official sponsor and charity of choice for the “Santa Train,” it is Kids Wish Network’s job to help with securing the toys and gifts to provide for approximately 5,000 children ranging in age from infancy to 15. This is where Kids Wish Network needs your help.

Due to the overwhelming needs of the people in the Appalachian Mountains, Kids Wish Network is still in desperate need of donations of toys, games, baby items and other gifts to pack for the children and their families. With the economic climate of the country today, it’s becoming harder and harder to find donations at all, let alone ones that fit the needs of our kids. We are understanding of this difficulty, but the children still need our help.

This “Santa Train” is a beautiful blue train loaded with toys and gifts that travels through the Appalachian Mountains and has become a holiday tradition for the impoverished families who live there. Over the course of only one amazing day, the donated toys and gifts will be distributed directly into the hands of thousands of children and teenagers in need at 13 scheduled stops from Shelby, Kentucky to Kingsport, Tennessee. The toys are divided into pre-packaged bags according to age and gender which are then handed to the kids on the ground.

Living in today’s world is tough and, as a child, it is sometimes hard to understand how and why things happen the way they do. It is also difficult for some parents and guardians to approach discussions about important life-changing events with their children. MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. – Working with city and county officials as well as local and nationwide sponsors, Kids Wish Network On Tour brought nearly a million dollars worth of new toys, clothes, educational products, strollers, baby carriers and other necessities to the at-risk children of Monroe County. These deserving children deal daily with adversities that most of us could never imagine – whether it be from sexual abuse, homelessness, neglect or life-threatening illnesses.

As parents held back tears of joy, thousands of children literally had “miles of smiles” on their faces as they left the Kids Wish Network On Tour event at Madisonville Middle School with their arms full of brand new toys, educational products and other necessities.

Kids Wish Network On Tour returned to Monroe County due to the overwhelming needs of the local children and the event’s success is a wonderful testament to the partnership between national children’s charity Kids Wish Network, Mayor Alfred McClendon of Madisonville, Madisonville Police Chief Gregg Breeden and the other Monroe County officials.

“Our community benefits tremendously from the partnership [between Kids Wish Network and the city officials] – the families and kids especially,” said Madisonville Police Chief Gregg Breeden. “This event also helps revives the partnerships we already have in our communities between the families and the officials themselves.”

According to Kids Wish Network Founder Shelley Breiner, “My husband Mark and I are proud to see our community come together for the On Tour event. It gives us great joy to be able to reach out to the children throughout Monroe County and show them that people really do care!"

On Friday evening, before the event, Kids Wish Network staff, city officials and volunteers from all over Monroe County worked together to unpack and organize nearly a million dollars worth of toys and educational products in the Madisonville Middle School gymnasium.

The children arrived on Saturday with their hearts pounding and excitement in their eyes. Their joy was unmistakable as they giggled and played with costumed characters while waiting to receive their gifts.

The looks of awe and amazement on their faces as uniformed police officers and city officials handed out bags full of gifts touched many hearts.

According to Chief Breeden, “When the officers see the joy and happiness on the faces of the children, that’s what it’s all about. All that this [On Tour event] has done will make it much easier for the people in this community. It was one of the most gratifying and humbling experiences that I’ve ever had, to watch as Kids Wish Network and our community partnered together as one and gave much joy to so many children and families.” 

Although this On Tour event is now over, the joy does not stop here. Kids Wish Network has offered Monroe County an opportunity to receive even more toys, clothes and necessities to give to the children for the holidays.

“We are excited to announce a social media contest we’ve launched to help the Monroe County community become even more involved in the magic of Kids Wish Network On Tour,” said Kids Wish Network Executive Director Anna Lanzatella. “We are asking the people of Monroe County to go on Kids Wish Network’s Facebook and Twitter pages and post comments and ‘like’ our pages. We will be tallying up the number of responses and, if Monroe County can get at least one hundred posted by October 15, Kids Wish Network will send additional toys, clothes, educational products and other necessities for the holidays. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get everyone in the community involved – city officials, volunteers, families and kids alike. This way, everyone has a hand in bringing smiles to the faces of these deserving local children.”

For the deserving children of Monroe County and everyone involved in the latest Kids Wish Network On Tour event, it was truly a day to be treasured.

“It was very gratifying and heartwarming to see such a great cause unfold,” said Mayor Doyle Lowe of Sweetwater, Tennessee. “It was like Christmas in October for the children and it was wonderful for us to be able to give them something that made them so happy.”
