Kids Wish Network Brings Smiles to the Faces of Children in Need at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital through a Donation of Toys Worth over $40,000

Posted in Press Releases on February 16th, 2012

Holiday, FL – National children’s charity Kids Wish Network sent a donation with a retail value of over $40,000 worth of brand new toys, games and other gifts to Chris Evert Children’s Hospital through their Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program. This particular event was sponsored by the Arnold & Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation.

Kids Wish Network is a national charitable organization with a unique array of programs designed to bring joy to children facing life-altering circumstances. One of these programs in particular, their Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, provides brand new donated toys, clothes, games, baby items, educational products and many other necessities directly to children in need through the facilities that care for them, such as hospitals and shelters, as well as police and fire departments all across the country.

Recently, Kids Wish Network sent an amazing donation of toys and gifts worth over $40,000 retail to Chris Evert Children’s Hospital down in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This “gift bank” was generously sponsored by the Arnold & Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation.

In celebration of the fabulous donation, the people at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital decided to throw a little party where they could hand out some of the wonderful new toys to the young patients in their care. They also invited sponsor Andy Gottlieb, of the Arnold & Joy Gottlieb Family Foundation, and two representatives from Kids Wish Network – JackLyn Myers and Jeannette Ridenour – to join in the joy of the celebration.

“It was amazing,” said Jeannette. “To see the kids smile and perk up as we handed them gift bags full of toys was wonderful. It made the experience so real, so touching.”

Andy, JackLyn and Jeannette were escorted through the pediatric units in the hospital and were able to meet the children in residence and their parents as they handed out gift bags overflowing with age and gender appropriate toys. They even gave out “travel sets” of a combination baby stroller/car seat/carrier – donated by Chicco USA, Inc. – to several mothers of infants in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the pediatric oncology unit.

“There was this one mother in the PICU who had an infant of 20-days-old and we gave her a ‘travel set,’” said JackLyn. “She had tears in her eyes and she was just so grateful. We were so pleased to be able to assist her.”

Seeing so many children braving difficult recoveries made the whole experience a bit bittersweet, but wonderful for everyone in that they were able to physically bring smiles to the faces of so many children at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital.

According to sponsor Andy Gottlieb, “Anyone can sit down and write a check, but to actually participate in giving the gift – that’s what it’s all about. It’s so wonderful.”

Because of this event and this marvelous “gift bank,” the children of Chris Evert Children’s Hospital now have something to brighten their days, while the visitors were given the joy of an incredible, moving experience to last them their entire lives.

According to JackLyn, “It was a wonderful experience to go to the hospital and see the good work done not only by the hospital staff, but also by Andy’s and Kids Wish Network’s involvement in bringing joy to these special children.”

Kids Wish Network Provides Over $60,000 Worth of Toys, Games and Necessities for the Deserving Children in the Care of The Joshua House and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital

Posted in Press Releases on February 9th, 2012

Holiday, FL- National children’s charity Kids Wish Network is reaching out to The Joshua House in Tampa, Fla. and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. by providing over $60,000 worth of toys, games, baby items and other necessities to be given out to children dealing with unfortunate circumstances.

The Joshua House in Tampa “is a safe haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected children, offering a therapeutic residential group care program that provides a protected, nurturing, family-like environment for children six to seventeen.” Down in Fort Lauderdale, the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital at Broward General provides top-of-the-line care for children dealing with some of the most harrowing physical effects of illnesses, accidents, abuse, and neglect. Both of these facilities strive to give children the peace of mind and the physical and mental well-being they deserve during their formative years.

With the economic struggles going on within the country today, it is an unfortunate fact that many children across the country are having to go without certain toys and games that bring joy to their bleak circumstances while their parents are having to struggle without some of the necessities they need to help their own children, such as strollers and playpens.

Knowing these needs in their own Florida “backyard,” national children’s charity Kids Wish Network jumped at the chance to help and quickly put together pallets full of brand new toys, games, educational products, baby items and other necessities for each facility that, together, came to a retail value of over $60,000.

Through their own gift giving programs such as the Holiday of Hope Gift Bank Program and Kids Wish Network On Tour, Kids Wish Network provides brand new donated toys, clothes, games, baby items, educational products and many other necessities directly to children in need as well as the facilities and organizations that care for them across the country.

The fantastic items provided by Kids Wish Network will soon be given directly into the hands of the deserving children in the care of The Joshua House and Chris Evert Children’s Hospital. Soon, these children will be smiling, playing and laughing together while battling their tough situations with a renewed sense of hope.

Huggies® Every Little Bottom Provides Kids Wish Network with Thousands of Diapers for Babies in Need

Posted in Press Releases on February 2nd, 2012

HOLIDAY, Fla. – After receiving an amazing donation of 450 boxes of much-needed diapers from Huggies® Every Little Bottom, national children’s charity Kids Wish Network will distribute the diapers directly into the hands of parents in need across the country through their gift giving programs.

For over 30 years, Huggies® disposable diapers have been a much-appreciated staple of diaper bags and changing tables worldwide. The outstanding quality of their products and their wonderful variety of diaper sizes and types have made Huggies® the go-to brand of disposable diapers for caregivers everywhere. Not only are the products amazing, but the company is as well, reaching out through their Huggies® Every Little Bottom project to provide diapers to families who are unable to provide enough diapers for their little ones.

Huggies® created Every Little Bottom to combat a growing problem called “diaper need.” According to Huggies®, “Diaper need is the struggle to provide babies with an essential need – diapers. Some mothers face having to clean out and reuse soiled diapers or have to choose between diapers and other basic needs like food… Moms struggling against diaper need are more likely to miss work or school, stay home when they need to go out, or keep their babies out of daycare — which usually requires a full day’s supply of disposable diapers. Without enough diapers for routine changes, moms feel distressed and find parenting even more difficult.”

With a goal to “help more babies have enough diapers,” Huggies® Every Little Bottom sent 450 boxes full of diapers over to national children’s charity Kids Wish Network to distribute through their gift-giving programs.

This marvelous donation of diapers will be given directly into the hands of families in crisis nationwide through Kids Wish Network’s unique Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program and the groundbreaking “Kids Wish Network On Tour” program. Both programs bring joy to children all across the country facing difficult circumstances such as illnesses, abuse, neglect and homelessness by providing them with toys, books, clothes, educational products, and other necessities such as diapers and strollers.
