HOLIDAY, Fla. –  National children’s charity Kids Wish Network is reaching out to manufacturers and distributors nationwide this inventory season to ask for donations of items marked out of stock, samples and any other products they can spare to help bring joy into the lives of children facing difficult situations such as homelessness, abuse, illnesses and neglect. For any donation, you will receive free freight.

Kids Wish Network, a nationally recognized 501 (c) 3 organization that serves children facing life-altering situations, is desperate for your help! We are in need of donations of toys and games for children of all ages: from infants to teenagers. With the economic climate of the country today, it’s becoming harder and harder to find donations at all, let alone ones that fit the needs of our kids. We understand this difficulty, but the children still need our help; without your assistance, we cannot give these kids the joy they so deserve during their times of need.

With inventory season upon us, this would be the perfect chance for you to help children by cleaning out your inventory! Anything you can send us that are samples, discontinued products or other marked out stock geared toward children is perfect to donate. Not only will you be able to move products that have been sitting around this past year, freeing up valuable space for new merchandise, but you will also be creating smiles nationwide AND receive free freight in the process! HOLIDAY, Fla. – Barbara Askin, Kids Wish Network’s Director of Distribution, has announced her retirement after 15 years of securing donations of toys and necessities for children facing life-altering circumstances worldwide. Although she is retiring, she will continue to lend her valuable guidance and leadership to Kids Wish Network as a member of the Board of Directors.

It is with tears in our eyes that we at Kids Wish Network announce that Barbara Askin, our beloved Director of Distribution, has decided to retire. After working tirelessly to provide toys and necessities for children in need around the world, we understand her decision and are cheering her on to a fabulous retirement. We also look forward to her guidance, as she will continue to serve on our Board of Directors.

Side-by-side with her daughter, Shelley Breiner, and son-in-law, Mark Breiner, Barbara helped found Kids Wish Network in 1997. The idea that started Kids Wish Network came after witnessing the sad faces of children enduring joyless days while receiving cancer treatment at the same hospital as Barbara’s husband, David Askin. After his passing and in dedication to his memory, Kids Wish Network was born.

From the very start, Barbara made it her personal mission to ensure that the children served by Kids Wish Network’s growing programs were given the very best in everything, especially toys and other necessities. Barbara’s tenacious nature quickly helped her earn a reputation as the “queen bee” of securing in-kind donations from manufacturers and distributors all across the globe. Over the years, Barbara worked nonstop to build Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Department and helped it expand into the powerhouse of smiles it is today.

Because of Barbara’s hard work and strong leadership, Kids Wish Network’s gift-giving programs are able to bring “miles of smiles” to hundreds of thousands of children worldwide through much-needed toys, clothes, games, baby items and other necessities, donated by a wonderful network of special “Guardian Angel” donors.

Barbara has always done a tremendous job in brightening the lives of children worldwide, whose days were previously darkened by fear, anxiety, hopelessness and pain. She has given the gifts of smiles, joy and laughter over and over again and, for that, everyone at Kids Wish Network like to thank Barbara and wish her the very best during her well-deserved retirement. She will be missed.

Kids Wish Network On Tour has partnered with shipping company Megatrux to deliver truckloads of toys, games and gifts to different locations across the country in trucks emblazoned with the Kids Wish Network On Tour logo. It is through their assistance that Kids Wish Network is able to reach out to even more children nationwide.

For each event, Kids Wish Network works closely with the local Sheriff’s department, Mayor’s office and other city officials in order to reach out to the most disadvantaged children in the community who have endured the most severe cases of child abuse, neglect and family violence; over 2,500 children attend each event. This amazing act of teamwork also helps to foster a good relationship between the children and the city and county officials who truly care.

Blankets are a basic need for people worldwide. They provide warmth and comfort and there is nothing like the feeling of security that comes along with the ‘hug’ of a comfy blanket. HOLIDAY, Fla. – Another fabulous donation of gardening kits just arrived at international children’s charity Kids Wish Network, thanks to Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC.

In 2010, Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC. embarked on a journey to “to bring the miracle of Nature to every child” and to make “learning fun by creating hands-on educational activities.” In order to educate and invigorate the minds of children of all ages, Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC. created their flagship Gerome’s Magical Gardening Kits™, which include a book telling the story of “Gerome the Gnome” along with all the tools children need to begin their own gardening magic.

In 2011, Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC. reached out to international children’s charity Kids Wish Network to provide the children served by their unique programs – all of whom suffer from difficulties such as illnesses, poverty, abuse or homelessness – with their wonderful gardening kits. The folks at Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC. knew all about the therapeutic qualities that gardening possesses and they were sure that Gerome’s Magical Gardening Kits™ would prove a terrific outlet for children facing difficulties and hardships. Whenever you’re in need, comfort can always be provided by Mother Earth, who provides for us. Not only will the children have fun with Gerome’s Magical Gardening Kits™, but they will also learn a lesson of a lifetime when they learn to cultivate the earth and provide food and flowers for themselves and their families.

Each and every gardening kit from Enchanting Gnome Knowledge, LLC. will be given directly into the hands of deserving children nationwide through Kids Wish Network’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program and “Kids Wish Network On Tour.” Both programs bring the joy to children all across the country facing difficult circumstances such as illnesses, abuse, neglect and homelessness by providing them with toys, clothes, educational products, games and other necessities.
