There is nothing quite like bringing a smile to the face of a child whose days have been darkened by homelessness, illness, poverty, neglect, or abuse. You, too, can create these smiles by becoming a “Guardian Angel” donor for international children’s charity Kids Wish Network.

 An overwhelming number of families are flooding into shelters, and seeking assistance from outreach programs and charities nationwide. The majority are no longer able to provide even the most basic necessities, let alone toys and educational products, for their children. Kids Wish Network needs the help of caring companies to give these kids the joy and comfort they so deserve during their times of need.  

Each and every day, all year round, Kids Wish Network works tirelessly to brighten the lives of courageous kids in the care of hospitals and other facilities through their Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, as well as to at-risk children across the country through “Kids Wish Network On Tour.” Both programs provide toys, clothes, educational products, and other necessities, to children facing difficult circumstances nationwide.

Kids Wish Network relies on the generosity of manufacturers and companies nationwide to donate their products to these brave children, and each donor is proudly honored as a “Guardian Angel” for kids in need.

HOLIDAY, Fla. – For the past four years, The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida has been a joyous recipient of Kids Wish Network’s Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, which provides emergency rooms, pediatric units, and other children’s care facilities with age appropriate toys to offer a welcome distraction to children facing often traumatic or life threatening illnesses. Each and every Gift Bank is made up of toys, games and other necessities donated by our amazing Guardian Angel donors.

“Our Holiday of Hope Gift Banks provide children in medical facilities nationwide a break from their treatments, as well as hope and encouragement for a healthier future,” says our Executive Director, Anna Lanzatella.

The latest Gift Bank that we delivered to The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida was packed with $40,000 worth of wonderful donated toys and necessities, from paper dolls to baby diapers; for example, there were much-needed kids’ clothes from HYP in New York, classically huggable plush toys from Kids Preferred LLC., amazingly fun fashion design kits from Fashion Angels, highly desirable Hexbug sets from Innovation First Labs, lotions and perfumes perfect for teenage girls from Camille Beckman, engaging and innovative board games and puzzles from both USAopoly and Winning Moves Games, and a spectacular assortment of toys and activity sets for boys and girls from Neat-Oh!

Our Executive Director, Anna Lanzatella, and one of our Board members, Andy Gottlieb, were both on hand at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida to help distribute full gift bags to pediatric patients ranging from a two month old baby to a teenager. Some of the patients who were well enough to leave their rooms were treated to arts and crafts activities while, for those who were too ill, Anna and Andy visited patient rooms and distributed gifts and toys.

“They lit up like I was Santa Claus,” said Andy. “This is why I am so proud to serve on Kids Wish Network’s Board of Directors. We do so much – from hospital visits to wish granting to providing gifts to children in poverty stricken communities.”

For helping us bring smiles to the faces of children in need both at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and all over the world, we at Kids Wish Network would like to send out our most heartfelt thanks to our treasured Guardian Angels – you all make life a little brighter for kids facing life-altering circumstances.
