Become a “Guardian Angel” for Kids in Need: Donate Your Products to Kids Wish Network

Posted in Press Releases on February 28th, 2013

There is nothing quite like bringing a smile to the face of a child whose days have been darkened by homelessness, illness, poverty, neglect, or abuse. You, too, can create these smiles by becoming a “Guardian Angel” donor for international children’s charity Kids Wish Network.

An overwhelming number of families are flooding into shelters, and seeking assistance from outreach programs and charities nationwide. The majority are no longer able to provide even the most basic necessities, let alone toys and educational products, for their children. Kids Wish Network needs the help of caring companies to give these kids the joy and comfort they so deserve during their times of need.

Each and every day, all year round, Kids Wish Network works tirelessly to brighten the lives of courageous kids in the care of hospitals and other facilities through their Holiday of Hope Gift Bank program, as well as to at-risk children across the country through “Kids Wish Network On Tour.” Both programs provide toys, clothes, educational products, and other necessities, to children facing difficult circumstances nationwide.

Kids Wish Network relies on the generosity of manufacturers and companies nationwide to donate their products to these brave children, and each donor is proudly honored as a “Guardian Angel” for kids in need.

If your company manufactures or distributes toys, clothes, books, accessories, games, activity kits, or other items appropriate for children from infancy to 18, please contact Kids Wish Network’s Distribution Center. Any help would be tremendously appreciated and every donation is given directly to the children.

Kids Wish Network and SpaRitual® Bring Peace of Mind to Girls in Need through Beauty Products

Posted in Press Releases on February 21st, 2013

Together, children’s charity Kids Wish Network and California-based SpaRitual are working to improve the quality of life for young girls and teens whose lives have been turned upside down by life-altering circumstances. Just last year, Kids Wish Network reached out to the California-based business and they have been onboard ever since as a “Guardian Angel” donor, donating their sumptuous, earth-friendly nail lacquers to encourage distressed teen and tween girls to smile and enjoy themselves again.

Founded by “lifestyle futurist” Shel Pink in 2004, SpaRitual was created as a line of multi-purpose eco-friendly products dedicated to helping modern people maintain a relaxing ancient spa ritual even in today’s busy times. With a motto of “slow beauty for a fast world,” all of the SpaRitual products, from lipgloss to nailcare essentials, were designed to motivate you to slow down your hectic schedule and take time for some “me time.”

Studies show that making time to enjoy personal pampering and relaxing activities throughout difficult or particularly busy times helps immensely in relieving stress and even lowering blood pressure. These health benefits are especially important to the young girls and teenagers who are helped through Kids Wish Network’s gift giving Kids Wish Network On Tour and Holiday of Hope Gift Bank programs.

When struggling with hardships such as illnesses, poverty, neglect, or abuse, these girls are often left feeling anxious and fearful. The stresses that are tugging at their lives from all angles do not allow them the chance to just enjoy being girls; with the beautiful nailcare products from SpaRitual, they are finally able to cherish some personal time to make themselves feel pretty, pampered, and relaxed. These products also help girls improve damaged self esteem and rebuild self confidence by allowing them the opportunity to identify with other girls their own ages.

“Everything that SpaRitual sends for our teen and tween girls is treasured,” said JackLyn Wright, the General Manager of Program Services and Distribution for Kids Wish Network. “There is nothing like some good ‘me time’ to help bring peace of mind to these girls during difficult circumstances, and the products from SpaRitual are just perfect for that.”

For their remarkable generosity, beautiful products, and their concern for young ladies in need, Kids Wish Network would like to send our most sincere ‘thanks’ out to the folks at SpaRitual. We would also like to welcome them to our network of “Guardian Angel” donors; you truly are making a difference in the lives of troubled girls nationwide.

Kids Wish Network and Townsend Press Give the Gift of Reading to Children in Need Nationwide

Posted in Press Releases on February 14th, 2013

Townsend Press has been a proud “Guardian Angel” donor for international children’s charity Kids Wish Network since 2006. With the generous donations of books from Townsend Press, Kids Wish Network is continually able to fulfill their mission of improving the quality of life for children facing life- altering situations. Through Kids Wish Network’s gift giving Holiday of Hope Gift Banks and On Tour programs, the books from Townsend Press are distributed along with other donated necessities to children dealing with difficulties such as illnesses, poverty, abuse, homelessness, and neglect.

College professor John Langan started Townsend Press in West Berlin, New Jersey, and has dedicated his life to  helping students of all ages learn the “language and reading skills needed for success.”  Today, as an independent publisher, Townsend Press’ mission is to spread the importance of reading with high-quality, reasonably priced textbooks, paperbacks, and electronic publications. They also promote reading by sponsoring scholarship contests, distributing reading motivation posters, and donating books to schools and community organizations, and began a partnership with Kids Wish Network in fulfilling this part of their mission.

“Giving a gift to a child in need is a special privilege," said JackLyn Wright, the General Manager of Program Services and Distribution for Kids Wish Network. "But being able to provide them with essentials for making their lives better is a true gift in and of itself."

Reading can also be a social activity that is important in boosting a child’s self-confidence and building socialization skills, which are especially critical for children in need. By providing these children with the gifts of reading and language skills, Townsend Press and Kids Wish Network are truly improving the quality of their lives while also giving them hope and opportunities for a better, brighter future.

Kids Wish Network would like to send their warmest ‘thanks’ to longtime “Guardian Angel” donor, Townsend Press, whose unwavering generosity and dedication to giving students and children from every walk of life an equal opportunity to read and learn is truly inspiring.

Kids Wish Network Welcomes New “Guardian Angel” Donor, littleBits

Posted in Press Releases on February 7th, 2013

When New York-based electronic toy manufacturer littleBits first heard about Kids Wish Network and their mission to improve the quality of life for children facing life-altering situations, they jumped at the chance to help kids in need by sending a donation of their electronic toy Starter Kits.

At littleBits, their goal is to help everyone become an inventor, no matter your age, technological abilities, or inclinations. They have created an “open source library of electronic modules that snap together with tiny magnets” to help create the “next generation of problem-solvers.”

“Kids Wish Network’s mission ties in well with our mission to help everyone be an inventor – especially children,” said littleBits Community Manager, Tara Noftsier. “And it would enrich our lives to bring smiles to children who face difficult situations.”

According to their website, “Just as LEGO™ allows you to create complex structures with very little engineering knowledge, littleBits are small, simple, intuitive, blocks that make creating with sophisticated electronics a matter of snapping small magnets together.” littleBits electronic modules are also a fun way to inspire creativity and independent thinking in children of all ages. This is especially important for children facing life-altering situations, as the opportunity for creativity provides the perfect chance to help ease their worries and fears about their current circumstances with a fun, productive distraction.

These wonderful, hands-on electronics kits from littleBits will be distributed to children in need through Kids Wish Network’s unique Kids Wish Network On Tour and Holiday of Hope Gift Banks. These programs provide children with toys, clothes and necessities to help them face and overcome difficult circumstances; every smile created through these programs is a step toward defeating the pain and discomfort felt by children dealing with illnesses, abuse, poverty, neglect, homelessness, and other adversities.

With this first donation of Starter Kits, littleBits has been warmly welcomed into Kids Wish Network’s network of compassionate “Guardian Angel” donors. They are a delightful addition, and we at Kids Wish Network would like to thank littleBits for thinking of our kids and reaching out to help inspire and engage their active young minds through their innovative electronic toys.
