Lincoln, NE - A visit to the hospital will be made a little easier for pediatric patients at St. Elizabeth’s thanks to Kids Wish Network, a national charity dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories, and improving the quality of life for children. The organization is honored to be able to provide toys with a retail value of over $60,000 to the hospital through its unique Holiday of Hope Gift Bank. This special Gift Bank is being sponsored by Union Bank.
Megatrux, Inc., a longtime supporter and treasured “Guardian Angel” of Kids Wish Network, delivered the toys to the hospital. The magnanimous shipping company has delivered Gift Banks to countless hospitals all over the country and was more than happy to once again be a part of bringing joy to kids in Nebraska.
“Union Bank is committed to supporting our local community and through the Kids Wish Network we are supporting the children of our community. Our community is fortunate to have the Kids Wish Network assist the needs of children who are going through a difficult period in their lives," said Tammy Gebers, with Union Bank.
Lori Palensky, Resource Development Coordinator for St. Elizabeth’s, was thrilled with the toys and the impact they are having on their patients. “KWN has added so much to the many areas of Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center. It is pleasure to bring happiness and joy to children who are ill and going through some very difficult times. Thank you
Kids Wish Network…you are often the best part of many children’s day!”
As just one of the programs that makes
Kids Wish Network different from similar organizations, its
Gift Bank is an uplifting, gift-giving program that brings cheer to children admitted to the hospital for treatment. The brand new toys and games, donated by some of America’s top toy manufacturers, are distributed to sick youngsters when they come to children’s care facilities for treatment. The
Gift Banks help alleviate fears and anxieties by allowing youngsters to temporarily forget about the stinging needles and uncomfortable treatments often endured while undergoing medical care.
